Nicole CochranWhat is your favorite campus resource at Butler?

Being that I am a secondary education math major, my number one resource is the math lab. I easily spend majority of my time there doing homework with classmates or talking with professors about the class material. I understand that not everyone is as big of a mathematics nerd as me; however, I would recommend the new students to look around in their major department for a room such as the math lab. I find it extremely helpful because the professors are always nearby if someone needs help and the faculty typically provides snacks and coffee. Putting academics aside, I would definitely recommend the HRC. Adding fitness into my weekly routine has definitely lowered my stress level and has left me feeling better overall. For students who don’t know how to start working out I would suggest trying one of the many workout classes that are offered each semester talking with a personal trainer for help. The location of HRC is also important for all new students to be aware of since health and wellness is also located in that building.

What is your proudest moment as a Bulldog?

With the support of my family I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and joined some of the organizations on campus and also started to meet with my professors on a regular basis. After taking that initial step, friendships started to develop, my grades went up,  and I grew into a different, but better, person than I ever was before I came to Butler. Butler has created in me a drive to follow dreams and let no one stand in my way. So, as I walked out of my last final this past semester I knew I had completed a small part of the bigger picture of my life and there was no looking back now.
