Rachel McFarlandWhat was your best memory of your freshman year?

It’s incredibly hard to pick just one “best memory” from my freshman year, but one of my top choices would definitely be when I went to my first Butler basketball game. I sat in the Dawg Pound & cheered our amazing team on to victory. It’s hard to explain what I loved so much about that basketball game, but there was something about that sense of unity I felt that made me fall even more in love with my school. GO DAWGS!

Why did you choose Butler for your college experience?

Originally, I started looking at Butler because of its top-rated pharmacy program, but I didn’t know much about the actual university itself. After coming for a visit, I instantly fell in love. I was definitely drawn in by the beautiful campus, but also by “The Butler Way” everyone spoke of. Everyone was so kind & caring & I could envision myself fitting right in. It wasn’t until I actually came to Butler though that I realized that it really was the perfect school for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better home!

What can an incoming student expect as they look ahead to their first year at Butler?

New friends, lots of laughs, rain boots, Atherton cookies, cuddling with Trip, late nights writing FYS papers (any procrastinators out there?), Starbucks coffee breaks, fountain hopping, philanthropy events, HOMECOMING!!, frisbee on the mall, bulldogs galore, & memories to last a lifetime. Your freshman year is going to rock:)
