Taylor Cox

Taylor CoxWhat is one challenge you faced during your transition to college life and how did you overcome it?

In high school, I tended to over-commit myself with organizations, classes, etc.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to spread myself thin on commitments in college, so it was difficult for me to pick and choose what I really wanted to be involved in rather than trying to be involved in every little thing that caught my attention.  As a freshman, I chose to only commit to being involved in two organizations.  Later on in my freshman year, I was thankful for that because I was able to give more of my time to my school work and those two organizations than I could have if I had over-committed myself.

What, in your opinion, makes Butler unique?

Butler stands out as being unique to me because of how welcoming and helpful everyone is.  I’ve never been surrounded by so many people who are looking out for my well-being even if they don’t know my name.

What can an incoming student expect as they look ahead to their first year at Butler?

They can definitely expect to meet many new people who will change their outlook on life and also encourage them to strive to perform everything to the best of their abilities.
