ButlerLib

The ButlerLib blog that we use for internal communications has just been updated. We now have a plugin that allows email notifications when someone posts a message. All library staff are subscribed to the ButlerLib blog, so whenever anyone posts anything on the blog, everyone will automatically receive an email with the contents of the new post. No more copying links and emailing them out to everyone.

For those that want to post something on ButlerLib, visit https://blogs.butler.edu/butlerlib and (after logging in with your Butler username and password) look over on the left for the “Posts” box and click smart drugs guide on “Add New” to do just that. Be sure to pick at least one Category and add any relevant Tags.

We also have a link to this blog from DawgBlog’s Links section, so you can here from there also.

You should all be able to get into both of the blogs now.

You’ll need to log in with your Butler username and password to post on DawgBlog or even to view ButlerLib. That one’s secure and just for library staff.

If you want to post something, click on the LogIn link on the left under the “Meta” header. From the blog’s dashboard, you can look in the left sidebar under Posts and pick “Add New.” Fill in the blanks and there you go. I encourage you to pick at least one “Category” for your post, and also add one or more relevant “Post Tags,” which can be any words that describe your post. Take a look at the “Tag Cloud” for tags that have already been used.

You can subscribe to blog posts via RSS, but I’m working on a way to subscribe also by email.
