The Panopto Recorder program in Windows has an option (enabled by default) that will allow the recorder to upload recordings even when the program itself is closed. It does this by running the recorder as a Windows service, and this service persists through logout.
As a result, there is no need to remain logged on to a Windows machine while the recorder is uploading; it will proceed normally regardless.
PLEASE NOTE: As this is dependent on running the recorder as a Windows service, this is not a capability that the Mac OS X Panopto Recorder currently has; Mac recordings will still need to be attended until uploads are complete. Additionally, this is an option present in the Panopto Recorder (for manual recordings), not the Remote Recorder (for automated recordings).
