The new version of Symantec AntiVirus that we got this summer does its own checking for that kind of thing and it’s pretty good. I still run Spybot Search & Destroy, which does find a few things from time to time, but AdAware is not finding ANYTHING important any more. So there’s no point in keeping it and running it any more either.<\/p>\n
DO make sure that you’ve got your AntiVirus program <\/p>\n
If you’re using Spybot S&D, it IS possible to schedule it to run automatically. To update your virus definitions:<\/span>
\nRun your Symantec Anti-Virus program (Start–Programs–Symantec Client
\nSecurity–Symantec AntiVirus Client). Click the LiveUpdate button to
\nget the updates right now. To schedule regular updating (highly recommended)<\/span><\/b>,
\nclick File–Schedule Updates. Check the box to enable automatic updates
\nand select a time that your computer will be on and logged in.<\/p>\n

\nbox next to “C: Local Disk” and click the Scan button to scan right

\ntime and frequency (daily is best, but weekly is okay) that you’ll be
