A Website Development Project

This semester Dr. James Keating’s First Year Seminar classes produced a website detailing aspects of Butler University History from1895 to 1945.  As anticipated, this required students to do research in the Butler archives as well as studying newspaper stories and other documents in the relevant years.  Students were challenged to find photographs and other graphic materials to help tell the story of their research.  This was, of course, a challenge.  There is very little information of that type online so they had to be creative and find local sources.  Another challenge is that almost all photographic information was, naturally, in black and white.  So keeping the website visually interesting was a challenge.  Nevertheless, students worked hard, developed their sources and finally presented their websites in classes at the end of April 2019.  Here are their websites.  We all hope you find the information to be interesting and also that you learn something about the history of this wonderful institution.
