9/23 Notes

I was able to take a lot of notes this class, which was nice and helped me stay more engaged with what we were learning. I liked how the reading from Chuang Tzu started a conversation about how we can never learn too much–there’s nothing we can know 100% about, but we can try our hardest to learn something new every day. I liked the example of a cook sharpening his/her knife while cooking because that makes the blade sharper, allowing for more precise cuts. The cook is using his/her tools at his/her disposal, thus becoming a better chef. It was a good way to realize you have so many tools to use in order to get better at whatever you want and it’s up to you to use them.
