This story shows how much corruption and injustice are in their police system. The police walked all over Mr. Chiu and abused their power. I can’t imagine the frustration he must have felt not being able to defend himself and the confusion he must have felt. If I was in his situation I would have just written the letter right away to get as far away from there as possible. At the end of the story when he got out and went to eat at all the nearby restaurants I was confused at what he was doing. Then when I read the last sentence it made me laugh. It was very sneaky and clever of him to do what he did. Not sure if it was the right thing to do but he got his point out there and I’m not sure he could have done much else because it seems like they have a pretty corrupt system.
