For today’s drum circle we spent the session inside due to the snow. Honestly it was still pretty cold but fun. The theme for this circle was about the islands of Okinawa which are a set of islands in Japan’s south. We learned the traditional terms there, parts of the language, and for the best part we used the traditional drums there. We learned the native dances there too but due to an upset stomach, there was not much dancing on my part. I honestly liked this one the most because I felt so culturally immersed. I know we are wrapping it up for the semester soon but I am looking forward to doing the rest of these as the semester closes. I am still waiting to see my poster set up but then again, it may have not been the worst idea to wait since it is not the cleanest design.
