My most unique drum circle

Sunday’s drum circle introduced us to the power of Uganda and the music that comes from the country. Due to the rain we unfortunately did not have drums but we did have spoons that when they are hit together can really make some good beats. We learned about the culture, language, and then did a traditional dance to celebrate. The major thing for me is that I do not like to dance but I was assigned the role of “tembo” or Elephant in English. I thought it went smoothly and the drum circle leader gave out gifts at the end to celebrate. I know there is only one left but I am looking forward to it and also am happy that this was my ICR because I learned a lot and I was always engaged. I loved the opportunity and I hope to continue to keep learning about these different cultures. Who knows maybe I join another drum circle when I am older…but first I would need to buy a drum.
