Since learning about Islam, I have realized there are a lot of similarities between being Muslim and being Christian/Jewish. In regards to divorce, Mohammed frowns upon it, much like how God does in the Bible, but there is a little bit of a difference in whether or not divorce is considered a sin. Mohammed believes that divorce isn’t good, but there is an exception–if there is a reason for the divorce (something like adultery). This allows more freedom for Muslims to get a divorce without feeling like they are sinning. I feel like most of the times there is a reason for divorce anyways, but sometimes two people just fall out of love. I guess it really just depends. In Christianity (and Judaism?), I’m pretty sure all kinds of divorce are a sin, whether you have a reason for getting a divorce or not. I thought this was really interesting since we have been learning all about the similarities of the religions and this is a relatively major difference.
