Mohammed Ali ruled over Egypt and was the start of the royal family. I don’t know much about him, Egypt, or Islam, so everything I learned this class was new information for me. I liked learning about how Muslims were seen as in need of enlightenment, even though they didn’t because they were have already gone through enlightenment. This reminds me that only people within a group know what’s best for that group. You should not be telling a religion\/country\/culture how to run things if you are not a part of that said group. Only Muslims know if they need enlightenment or not. I also found it interesting how Islam is not separate from the country because everyone just believes the same thing. It’s not a matter of church vs state, they all just believe the same and live the same (even though there are different branches of Islam).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
