This was an interesting take on the two sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict which looks at the religions of Judaism and Islam. While a lot of it focused more on the conflict, I did think the religious elements sprinkled in were very interesting. One thing that I found super interesting was a conversation between one of the main characters and his stepdad who took part in the Six-Year War\/Nakba. I thought it was cool to read about the different interpretation of the same event by the different religions. There was also a quote I liked: \u201c[w]e are Semitic, both of us, Israelis and Palestinians together\u2026There was a time for war\u2026but no more\u201d (McCann 171-2).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For another class, we read a book called\u00a0Apeirogon which follows the lives of a Palestinian and an Israeli.
