0Today I participated in three interviews for new IC assistants. Being on the opposite side of an interview was a new experience for me but I liked having the opportunity to have a hand in the future of Information Commons. Tim and I had some discussion after the interviews and we were in agreement on the three candidates we saw today. After that I found an awesome website called http://www.code.org/ that has something called CodeAcademy that is an interactive coding teacher. I played around with it a little on shift, but I think this could be a great resource to familiarize IC workers with basic coding techniques. The CodeAcademy allows users to create their own account and will track their progress, letting users earn badges and points to display progress. So I think this is something we could possibly add to the program! Yay coding! It has a wide range of languages too!
