0Today I did some research into other academic technologies. One website I found was http://www.digitalclassroom.com/ and it contains tons of video tutorials, and written lessons for various academic technologies. What I really liked about this website was that it had a massive list of technologies. It had the basics that we support in IC (iMovie, Photoshop, Excel, DreamWeaver, WordPress, etc.) but it had almost every other software program available from Adobe, Microsoft, and iOS. The website is not free, so I didn’t get the chance to watch very many videos or see the content, but I think this could be a valuable tool for our student workers to use when learning new technologies, especially those that we do not currently specialize in.
I also stumbled upon an online computer science course from Harvard Extension school (basically Harvard online courses). The course is focused on “understanding” computers and intuitively knowing why computers do the things they do. I began listening to the first class meeting, and was quite impressed with the instructor and the way the information was presented. I plan to continue watching most of the course on my own time, but thought this could be a resource for new and existing IC workers who do not necessarily understand what goes on behind the computer screen. http://computerscience1.tv/2011/spring/
I also spent some time watching a few Ted talks from the digital lives playlist for professional development.

0I attended the LRC Workshop about Study Habits That Worked. I brainstormed some ideas afterwards. Then I watched some more Dreamweaver videos.

0Today I helped set up Panopto for a GHS class and I am about to go get the equipment from the class. I also watched Atomic Learning videos on Dreamweaver to work on my site.

0Today I talked with Michelle about becoming an associate next semester. We discussed basic responsibilities and making the transition from assistant to associate. I made some tweaks to my Dreamweaver site, and took notes on assistant applicant resumes!

0I filled the printers with paper and helped with a paper jam. I also counted the money from the cash register.

0Today I continued working on my Dreamweaver site and figured out how to put it live and everything (basically it’s just on thomas, but now I understand how it works in that sense). I worked on my own header for my dreamweaver site in photoshop and now it looks very professional and unique! I helped a faculty member who wanted to check out an iPad, and I also talked to Tim about summer & fall employment.

0Today at the library I helped create a flyer to put on the IC desk there to tell everyone (student, staff, faculty) about JH048. Then at CAT I believe I finished my photoshop project, I just need conformation on where/who I should send it to, I did the Photoshop quiz, and helped out Alex with a video he was making.
