{"id":13369,"date":"2013-02-18T11:49:49","date_gmt":"2013-02-18T16:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/infocommons\/?p=13369"},"modified":"2013-02-18T11:49:49","modified_gmt":"2013-02-18T16:49:49","slug":"cierra-reflection-2-18-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/infocommons\/2013\/02\/18\/cierra-reflection-2-18-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Cierra Reflection 2-18-13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Looking at the big picture, what have you done during your time in IC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have learned how to interact with faculty and staff as well as students and be able to answer questions\u00a0knowledgeably\u00a0or with a confident \u201cI don\u2019t know the answer but I know who to ask\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Describe your most memorable experience, accomplishment, or road block you have encountered in the program thus far.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accomplishment: organizing documents and putting together an example portfolio for College of Education and then presenting that information with my group.<\/p>\n<p>Accomplishment: working of the newsletter<\/p>\n<p>Road block: feeling that my opinion\u00a0doesn&#8217;t\u00a0matter because I am not an associate and feeling like I have ideas for the program but do not know who to voice them to.<\/p>\n<p><strong>List 3-5 tips, or pieces of advice, you would give to future IC student workers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Be able to think outside the box to answer questions and solve problems.<\/p>\n<p>Ask more questions than you think you need to.\u00a0 This makes sure you are answering exactly what they want to know and not just what they asked at first.<\/p>\n<p>Be able to locate all info in the library or know who to ask.\u00a0 Memorize BU Answers and where common services are located on campus.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t just try and say you do not know an answer.\u00a0 Be willing to look for it in more than one way and then seek help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What have you learned to be your strengths thus far?\u00a0 In what areas do you need to grow?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Strengths: Knowing how to answer questions and where the resources are to find the answers.\u00a0 Relating to the people who are asking questions and hopefully leaving them with a sense that they can do what I just showed and explained to them.<\/p>\n<p>Need to grow: I need to be able to work with others better and ask for help when I need it.\u00a0 I do not often work with other people in the library so it often feels like an isolated work environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are you passionate about?\u00a0 What drives you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I love helping people.\u00a0 IN the library whenever someone has a question it is amazing to help them through the process of finding what they need or how to find it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Combining your strengths, areas of growth, and passions, please develop an individual goal for your continued growth in the IC program.
