Former poet laureate Billy Collins’s brainchild, poetry 180 is a website that has poetry for everyday of the school year. Poems are picked with high school students in mind. They are interesting and current, meant for students to enjoy rather than pick apart.

This is a great resource for teachers. It is a database of lesson plans, but the lessons are organized by state standards, so if you’re ever stumped on how to teach a certain standard, you can bet this site will help!

This is a really cool website that will help kids become more enthusiastic about reading. It’s basically a facebook page except for books. There’s news about new books, competitions for reading, meet the author videos, and more. This site rocks.

This website is an awesome resource for students and teachers alike. There are presentations on all kinds of grammar terms that come with interactive online worksheets. There are also a bunch of fun games to practice grammar on this site.

This website has a bunch of links to articles that are very helpful for teachers on the first day of school. There are articles about room decor, letters to send out to parents/students, and a checklist of what to remember on the first day.
