Today, in class we attempted to begin our final project. Using a melody we knew well and verses in the Bible it was a little difficult getting it to fit together and create a good song. I learned it is okay to paraphrase. Because there are so many versions of the Bible, the words have been tinkered with many times, so paraphrasing it once more to fit into a melody would not be changing the words immensely. While I still have a lot of work to do for my song, it eased my thoughts of creating songs as I expected it to be harder than it is. Making Bible verses into song will help others remember the Bible better. I hope the verses I picked and the melody continue to fit. I look forward to working on my song further.
