Yesterday in class, we watched two different videos, which contained the same foundations from Genesis and the story of God’s creation. However, both musical pieces provided a different perspective on the text from Genesis through how they sound and how they are presented. In one sense, creation is portrayed as smooth and wondrous, while in the second piece, it is more powerful. The difference between these two songs illustrates a more broad ability of music, the ability to influence the perspectives of the audience on a text or idea through how the music sounds.
