I had never really thought that using different stories from the Bible as a way to entertain would be considered controversial before. After reading the part in the textbook concerning Jesus Christ, Superstar and presence of other films depicting Biblical stories, I understand not why this could cause problems with different denominations of the church. Some denominations may not approve of presenting Biblical stories for the purpose of entertainment because they feel as though this ruins the sacredness of the Bible. On the other hand, some denominations may feel as though this is simply another form of telling stories from the Bible and is perfectly acceptable. Seeing some of these type of films growing up I had never thought that it could be controversial because it seemed completely normal to me, but the reading showed me that other people might believe different things about this form of Biblical storytelling.
