In 2012, a group of Christian Artists got together to form a compilation album called Music Inspired by the Story, an album entirely of songs meant to interpret the Bible into music. I have been a long time fan of this album, but only after the last couple of weeks in this class have I realized how much detail was put into the musical interpretation of these songs. It is not just the words that can be put toward these Biblical stories, the rhythms used, the tempos chosen, the general style of the songs, everything was chosen to fit these stories. All of a sudden I was able to hear these songs in a new light. I cannot recommend this album enough to anyone who is looking for inspiration in interpreting the Bible into music.
