The Crucifixion of Jesus and its Significance

In this class lesson, we went over the translated text of St. Matthew and it’s clear that in the translated side, there is way more emotion that is shown and could be understood. Also slowing down the story to where it can give us a chance to take a moment to feel the emotion fully. The way that modern people think about how crucifixion and what Jesus’s death meant is different than what the New Testament says. Everybody has a different perspective on what Jesus’s death means in the Christian context. Just like when asking the Christian’s which holiday is important in the Christian context. This is very debatable within each person, some would say Christmas because that’s the birth of Jesus, or some would say easter because of his resurrection. With the meaning of crucifixion, some in the Christian context, would think of salvation, sacrificial, forgiveness for sins and worshiping.
