I could definitely relate to the idea of getting some sort of emotional response from reading different scriptures. From my own experience with reading the Bible, I have found a great deal of it very relatable to my own life, especially in the New Testament. I think it also very true that different people can experience different emotions from different areas of music or text. The response that scripture elicits is absolutely dependent on a person’s current situation. I think music can also amplify the emotional response if it lines up with a person’s current emotions. If a person is struggling through a difficult time in their life, songs of perseverance may inspire them, and songs of anxiety and depression may cause them to relive their own anxieties.
