After class on 10/5, the one thing that really stuck in my mind was the idea that there were so many musical versions of the same lines of text. It feels odd that no that are so many versions, but in how many different ways these can be written. It felt like there were no two versions of the Magnificant that sounded exactly the same. With the types of music that we have in the current day in age, there are worlds of different types of songs that are out in the world. And with such a large number of songs, there aren’t that many that use the same words in their lyrics. I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around all of this.
And yet, the beauty that lies in that thought is beyond imagine. This older text has found a way to break through the generational divide to remain relevant in our ever changing world. This message of hope and inspiration really strikes me as such a new concept that I am excited to see where else we have examples of this.
