I enjoyed listening to everyone share the children’s songs they chose today. The one I picked was “This is My Commandment.” Which relates to John 13: 34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” I think this song is a good one for children because not only is it repetitive and catchy so that they are able to pick up on it and sing along easily, it teaches a good life lesson in general that we should love one another and treat others in a respectful way. This is a valuable skill children should learn young. In class some of the other songs shared were “This Little Light of Mine” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children” as well as Veggie Tales versions of songs. I remembered hearing many of these as a child, as well as watching Veggie Tales, so it took me back in time hearing them again.
