Today’s class was designated to share our discoveries on children’s songs and their specific connection to the Bible. While coming up with the song I decided to share with the class, I had another song I considered sharing but decided against it. The song “Jesus Loves Me” is arguably a song nearly every child raised with the belief of God has heard. Despite the most obvious recognition of the Holy Word in that the song is written around the unconditional love God has for his children, there was another aspect to the song I would like to point out. Even though it is a very simplistic song with the main lyrics as the title of the song, it recognizes the importance and confidence that can be found in the Bible. It plants the idea into the children that the Bible is trustworthy and a confident source to turn to in moments of being unsure. I think this might not be explicitly intentional to everyone but was rather a small detail I noticed while researching.
