The popular story of Exodus has been featured in numerous pieces of music. Because of its continuous celebration around Passover, it shows why musicians and artists continue to write and sing about Exodus. “Wade in the Water” shows how the holy water will wash away your sins and bring you healing, as well as keep you from getting recaptured. A more popular example “Go Down Moses” by Louis Armstrong explains the story of Exodus where Moses is sent to save the slaves; however, this song refers to multiple Pharaoes, and the Bible only discusses one. This seems as if it may be a reoccurring theme as multiple songs that refer to the story Exodus and other stories in the Bible do not completely follow what the Bible states.
