Today, we began class by discussing what type of music we typically listen to and what content is in it. While Rhythms & Blues music is generally about love, country music tends to contain content such as drinking alcohol, as well as love. Interestingly enough, the Bible contains all of this material as well. In the first chapter of the book of Solomon, it states, “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine.” It contains alcohol, as well as love.
While we think of our everyday music, no matter the genre, as completely different from the gospel, it is surprisingly more relatable than we realize. Many have placed Bible verses to pop songs, which is much like the majority of us listen to today.
