Romance in the Bible

Love is constantly in the Bible, “For God so loved the world,” “Love is patient,” and “We love because he first loved us.” We read of Christ’s unconditional love for his people in many parts of the Bible, but there are multiple discussions of romantic love scenes. The book of Solomon contains romance, as well as the scene of Ruth and Boaz. The most popular romance story in the Bible is that of Adam and Eve. Because God found Adam was alone, he created Eve for Adam to have a companion, and then they were soulmates. Another popular story is the relationship between Mary and Joseph. The couple fell in love and were engaged. Once Mary was pregnant, Joseph stayed with her even though it was not his baby.

When thinking of love and the Bible, the majority of us recall the love Christ has for the world. Although it is not highly discussed, the Bible has many examples of romantic love scenes.
