In class today, we discussed The Lord’s Prayer and how there are differences between the gospels of Matthew and Luke. The version found in Matthew provides a slightly longer version on the prayer that includes “but rescue us from the evil one” at the very end. The version in Luke does not include this final piece. We also discussed how, many times, people tend to simply have this prayer memorized and it starts to lose its meaning. Many people do not even know what some of the phrases or words truly mean because it is so familiar, so it can be spoken without having to process the words.
