An Odd Format of a Common Theme

You never really think about music before written sheet music as we know it. It’s strange, because I’ve been in musical settings for the past 12 years, and sheet music has been a constant in my life. But today, seeing that music written down in a format that contained no staff nor notes was odd. It is one of those moments that truly shows you the progression of the human kind. Just as written spoken language changes, it only makes sense to assume the written musical language would change as well. It truly provides some food for thought, and will sure guide some of my researching for the week.
