Today we read the English texts of the Magnificat. It was interesting to do the activity where we each read the same two lines but tried to read them in different tones. Some sounded the same, some sang, but it was entertaining to hear from everyone to see what they could come up with. After trying this ourselves, we listened to songs that sang those same verses we used. Each song sang the same lines in a different way. I learned that you can always come up with melodies and have them sang many various ways. As a class we came up with a melody by picking random notes and playing them on the virtual piano. I thought this would be difficult, but turns out creating a melody can be very simple. The hardest part is just finding a place to start.
