there are many different interpretations of the bible each saying things a bit differently. each of these interpretations is made up of slightly different wording. the wording of the verses greatly affects what one can make music through using the verses. since these stories have many different ways they can be told it makes it apparent that one can change the wording of a verse in order to fit it to music as long as it keeps the general meaning.
