Class Reflection – Devlyn Case

During class today (12/2/21) we had a zoom call and a guest speaker. His name is Devlyn Case. He is a composer. He spoke to the class about himself and the music that he composes. We were lucky enough for him to explain one of his pieces in detail, then be able to watch a video of him and a symphony playing the piece in-front of a church body.

I was really interested in the video that we watched. Because I found the genius in to be all the different instruments that were put on display in the piece. You had traditional instruments such as strings and a piano. But there was also things you wouldn’t expect. Such as a plastic glider, along with Tamborine shakers. I found it interesting the way it was produced, even though the notes still came out well and sounded professional.
