We also did a class &#8220;sing-along&#8221; for a few Bible verses that worked with some songs. For example, Psalm 23 fit to Amazing Grace. Yankee Doodle and Jack &amp; Diane by John Mellencamp matched up to Bible verses, as well. Paraphrasing and matching songs to well-known melodies will definitely allow others to memorize and understand verses of scripture better. The hymns at my church have simple melodies and many sound similar. Now, I know why, because paraphrasing a song to the common or long meter makes it easier to match songs to melodies. Simplifying verses to be placed into a melody will make it easier for everyone to understand rather than some of the versions of the Bible.
