I am having a hard time finding a biblical text to put with a melody and rhythm of a song. I feel like it is such a controversial topic. I feel wrong when I put biblical text to a song melody that is not a religious song. It feels wrong and like it does not belong. It is also hard for me to put Biblical text in a song because I read the bible as if someone is talking to me, and if it is a song I read it as lyrics. I also put God’s word above everything else so it seems like I am messing around with the biblical text when I put it to a song melody. I have been focusing on changing the way that I think about it, but it has been difficult for me to find a good fit for the right biblical text and song melody. I also have came to the realization that there is a lot of examples of biblical text set to music. Therefore, I should feel more comfortable with completing this project.
