Dear Butler Colleagues,
Healthy Horizons, the Butler employee wellness program, invites you to participate in a series of free programs designed to help you control your personal finances and decrease your stress over money issues. Local financial counselor Peter Dunn, a.k.a. “Pete the Planner,” will present the programs, starting Wednesday, Jan. 30, with “One Hour to Change,” a discussion on improving your financial life. He will discuss how to reduce spending, create a practical budget, save for the future, and address money within your relationships. Register for the event. In February and March, he will offer “60 Days to Change,” an online- and email-based program that will lead participants through a series of financial goals. As an extra incentive, Healthy Horizons will award three winners at the conclusion of the “60 Days to Change” program. Prizes will be award to the top participant in each of these categories: 1) pays down the most debt, 2) saves the most money, and 3) eliminates the most expenses. Other 2013 programs will cover paying down debt and retirement planning. Healthy Horizons has arranged these programs because we know that financial stress—worry about money—is one of the top three stressors that can affect emotional and physical health. Participants in other Healthy Horizon programs often mention financial concerns as barriers to health care and healthier lifestyles. With Pete the Planner’s help, we hope to assist you in learning skills to manage your finances confidently. Call or email with questions. We look forward to seeing you at the programs. |
