Throughout the course of RBE, I think I have come a long way. In the first few weeks of class, we focused on identifying our different superpowers and how to handle change. I didn’t realize it at the time, but these discussions would contribute greatly to our success later in the semester.

I identified my super power to be writing, but over the course of the semester I see that I have gained listening, interpreting, and organization as three new superpowers. These superpowers emerged over the course of the semester as we began to work more with our teams. I found I was good at listening to the other members of my team and helping them accomplish various tasks for class as well as interpreting information from the various readings we did. However, I think my strength with organization was most helpful in RBE. It made the class less stressful and helped me share information easily with my team. I believe identifying our various superpowers early made our team more successful as a whole.

The other important topic we discussed was change. Our business faced a major change when we decided to adjust our business model late in the semester. I think the discussion on change early in the semester helped all of us accept the change we had to make in our business. We all handled it very well and worked as a team to make our business even stronger.

I believe RBE is a unique experience that has been beneficial for me. I have seen what it’s like to start a business from nothing and then run it over the course of the semester. I’m glad I had the opportunity to start a business and then work as a member of a team. The skills I have learned in RBE will undoubtedly benefit me in the future.
