Joey Przybylinski’s Reflection on the Real Business Experience and Dawg Bytes

RBE has helped me develop individually, professionally, and as a team member. It helped me realize my true potential, and increase my appreciation for my Butler education and how it will help me in my future professional career. “Real Life, Real Business” is truly defined by the RBE courses. This was by far my favorite class of the semester, and I wish I could take it in the spring because I received more help with personal and professional development in RBE than any other class. With the help of this course, I am more willing to accept change and I am more adaptable to my circumstances. Change defined Dawg Bytes (our business) this semester. We went from being a general tech-help service that wanted to make house calls throughout Indianapolis, to creating our own niche in the technology market by reaching out to retirement communities.
This course helped me develop in a professional sense because I was actually helping to run a real business. Talking with potential clients, gathering all of the essentials for running our operations, and figuring out important financial information are some things that are vital for success in any business. I have developed a real respect for businesspeople that do these things for a living. It is hard work, but it also is very fun and interesting. RBE truly fortified my decision to be a business major. I loved interacting with the customers and seeing all of my hard work pay off in the profits we received. However, I got more satisfaction knowing I did the best I could. I can now add Dawg Bytes to my professional résumé, and I will be able to explain how I have been fully involved with almost every aspect of running a business. With my Butler education, and with the experiences I have had in RBE, I will be able to separate myself from other candidates when I apply for a professional job and potential career.
