Our fourth and final session in the Religion and World Civilizations Seminar Series returns to the local context with a discussion of issues of religion, race and justice here in Indianapolis, featuring local clergy, scholars, and activists.

Speaker:

Rev. Dr. David Hampton serves as Senior Pastor of Light of the World Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indianapolis. He currently sits on the City of Indianapolis Board of Zoning Appeals, Indianapolis Urban League, and the Serve Indy Committee. Dr. Hampton has received the Presidential Call to Service Award 2011 (which was recognized by President Obama) and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Award in Religion in Indianapolis in 2007.

 

Respondents:

Dr. Terri Jett is Associate Professor of Political Science and Special Assistant to the Provost for Diversity and Inclusivity at Butler University. She is President of the Board of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana and is an elder at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church.

 

 

Rev. Anastassia Zinke is the minister of All Souls Unitarian Church in Indianapolis. She is active with three local interfaith organizations: the Interfaith Hospitality Network, IndyCAN and the Center for Interfaith Cooperation.
