YOU WERE WRONG
by DAIZJHA
You were wrong
You were wrong about me when you said I was dumb
You were wrong when you hurt that me that couldn’t defend herself
You were wrong when you said I was ugly wrong when you said I’m “black” wrong when you swore I couldn’t amount to anything wrong when you pushed me down
You were wrong
You were wrong when you said no one cared
You were wrong
I’m one of the most intelligent females you’ll ever meet
I can knock down any man
I’m a beautiful gorgeous flawless black woman whose voice makes friends whose heart is big and hearty.
I’m brown not black I’m that chocolate snack you love so much
I have interned for the senate I’ve met the governor the mayor and they both owe me favors
You’ll never knock me off my stand because I will get back up
I’m cared for by so many my funeral would hold 2 college campuses
You were wrong
You were wrong
You were wrong
