  • HOW TO MEND A BROKEN HEART

    by KIYLA

In my eyes I say all is fair in love and war.
So you mend it by getting revenge.
Revenge is a dish best served cold especially
When you are a feline living in a canine’s territory.
This feline is cute and soft but her heart
Is filled with stone. Letting her guard
    Down once but never again.
    My friends: mostly canines
Had to step on their tails and flick their noses
As they cried and yelped in my ears for my forgiveness
    No longer wanting my friendship.
No need for asking for friendship.
To think my best friend is now my enemy.
Revenge is my best friend. But they were diamonds.
Fake Diamonds and I didn’t notice I was wearing them.
    Flashing them to the crowd.

  • VISITING DEATH

    by SHAWN

    In The Dead Courtyard
    The Cracked Bird Bath
    Is Filled With Dirty Water

    I Walk To One Corner
    Looked Down To The Ground,
    See A Rock
With The Letter “S” In Peeling Blue Paint

    The Ghost From The Tree,
Flipping My Pages From Side To Side.
The Pages Repeat What My Grandma Always Said.

  • DEAR, WHOEVER

    By ANAIS

    Let there be happiness,
Let the tears from my face fall for the last time.
I bowed my head again tonight,
Just like I do every night.
I cry, trying to grasp my breath,
It’s the same routine I do every day.
Why pray to someone I don’t believe in?
Who is this person I’m speaking to?
I close my eyes and whisper into the darkness.
My hands clenched to the side of my bed.
All the bad things begin to rush through my head.
Please, I pray, let him come home sober.
The one thing I always wish for,
Is the thing I know that will never happen.
    Please, whoever you are.
    Allow me to become stronger.
    Distract me from addiction.
Let me smile for joy and not pain.
    Let me know she’s okay and she’s still here;
Tell her and Grandpa I said, “I love you.”
Tell my twin siblings I wish I could have met them.
Show light onto my brother before he turns into me.
Keep those who are in danger safe.
    Stop the pain from yesterday.
Help me forget the enemies and scars from the past.
I don’t know who to talk too, so I’ll pray to you.
    Whoever you are…

  • PARAPHRASING GENOCIDE’S SUICIDE

    by ERIC

Judging in words, sentence is death attacked by verbal grenades by the judgmental wishing for a repaired heart but remaining unenlightened, blowing out candles but still embarking toward the light, but reprimanding my darkened theory, wishing for a spark of thought to ignite this eclipse, prejudice ensues these lacerations pertaining to the pessimists  as they try to rip off the emotional band-aids, while the words, like whips, try to vanish from the wrists that splurge freely to the black abyss, a splattered letter written in crimson, wishing for the three lettered words, eight letters in length, to stop being shoved down throats and perforates the indulgence oblivion is cleansed in slits and bullying keeps honesty clenched in my abdomen, snapping adolescence’s  independence to wish to mention, remaining mute to stop the emotion of the cruel intention, words loaded like magazines, paragraphs entwined paraphrasing the distance, and how someone from so far away can add additional indent, carrying words, subtracting the happiness, two hearts at division.
