  • THIS LIFE

    by EMILY

    I think a lot, but I wish I didn’t
though. I think of good things, bad
things, things you could never know.

I reload every second from a pile of
mesh. My brain is like a supercomputer
    always stuck on refresh.

I do crazy things and mess up
too much. I’ve realized things can
fall apart with only the slightest touch.

I’m surrounded by the world and
trapped in my own home, my life
seems to stay in my small comfort zone.

    Change is inevitable and sometimes
that thought scares me. It’s like
    the universe doesn’t know
this is how I want it to be.

    Random things pop into my
head at all the wrong times.
Like what if everything Dr. Seuss
says is only made up of rhymes?

Or do chickens have their own
    secret language they use when
no one’s around? Does it mean
I have a desire that makes me
crazy, but has yet to be found?

Am I incapable of being normal and
acting right? And is it bad when
    both sides of your brain
    always seem to fight?

Does it make sense that I make
wishes even though I know they
won’t come true? Or is it stupid to
think that others might do it, too?

Does it make me a bad person because
sometimes i hate the people that I’m supposed
to love? And when they try to get close
I push them away with one big shove.

    I guess I’m crazy, insane, a total
nut job. I’m just happy my door
    hasn’t been knocked down by
    a full-blown mob.

Sometimes I wish there was one
person on earth that I could
talk to about this stuff. But
there’s not, so I’ll go on
pretending that this life isn’t tough.

  • TOKYO GHOUL

    by ISAIAH

    The white and black checkered,
    strapped to the chair, severed,
there go the limbs, fingers and toes,
again, and again, again and again,
attacking my walls, drip by drip
as much as I wish, I slip,
my torturer exists in a doubt
    my conscious,
    don’t eat them,
    devour them.
    Even your best friend,
    no one will accept you
    after your change,
    switch back to reality,
those people he’s killing, their lives end.
    Go ahead eat him,
    devour him,
    before he eats them,
    you’re no longer human, foul,
    you know:
    “I am a ghoul.”

  • I REMEMBER

    by DANNY

I remember the day we first met.
I remember when we shared our first laugh like it was yesterday.
I remember when we hugged for the very first time.
I remember when you became a friend to Boo in a second.
    I remember when we dated.
All of these memories are part of me.
I remember the day you told me you were leaving.
    I remember.
I felt like my heart broke into pieces, but I still remember you.

  • HURTFUL EMOTIONS

    by ERIC S.

I see your skin and I see your scars, let me take you
somewhere, where we’re alone. Maybe Mars?

I see your facial expression, maybe it’s teaching me
a lesson? I want to protect you from Satan.

I won’t let this happen again.

The way he treats you isn’t right, stay with me
and I’ll keep you bright. You are my princess, no wait . . .
my queen. And I don’t want you to stay with
    someone so rude and mean.

You shouldn’t deal with this abuse,
    c’mon there is no use.

I’ll take your tears away, and I’ll
keep you forever if I may.

  • SPARTANS VS. ROMANS

    by HUNTER

Preparing for war . . . now get ready soldiers. Charge! Fire the arrows and send the horseman. Now send the foot soldiers. We will fight. Slashing, cutting, brother vs. brother. We are staring to win; the Spartans are winning, the Romans are dying. Kill every last one. What? They have more soldiers . . . there is no way we can win. They have 2,500 more soldiers. We only have 500. No. We will not give up against these Romans. We will fight until we die. We’ll keep slashing through these Romans. We were doing good until the shower of arrows come down and hit us.
