  • WHEN IN ROME

    by EMILY

Me & a group of gummy bears
riding on a train to hell,
walking up to Satan’s door &
fighting over who rings the bell.

We all pull down our pants &
yell for him to kiss it.
He looks at us, confused, as
    we make ourselves at home.

    We’re heading here anyway,
so, as they say, “When in Rome.”

He yells for us to leave, but
    we’re not going anywhere.
    Feet up, champagne popped,
    we honestly don’t care.

“Our time is now,” we say. “So leave
    or you will die!”

He huffs at us right before the
gummy bears rip out his eyes.
    “We’re taking over & there isn’t
a thing you can do. So surrender now &
we might not kill you,” they say.

    Of course, where I’m from
we lie, we would have said he fell.
But there’s no need for that,
    because we’re in hell.

  • SHATTER ME

    by JADON

    I can’t fathom how much I feel.
Like trying to measure electricity in an eel.
    Broken and tormented I am.
    Subjected to the big force.
Tattered and alone as a ragdoll.

Pour salt into the wounds why don’t you,
    Make them gape even wider.
Words like venom from a lethal spider.
Sticks and stones don’t break those bones,
    Only phrases and irony.

    Silhouetted against the walls,
Stalking to and fro down the halls,
I embrace the blessing of shadows
Because friends like them ¬¬¬alleviate sorrow.

And then the lights began to flash.
    Smoke turned to ash.
No longer apart of the fragmented past
A feeling that only you could make last.

    I love you.
With you I don’t have to walk on cue.
With you I don’t bathe in rue.
    With you nothing else matters,
But without you I will surely shatter.

Drown me in your light, mistress of the night,
Only you can bring an end to the bright.
It’s cold in here, necrotic and damp.

  • ATTACK ON TITAN

    by HUNTER

    Blood more blood
    I want more blood
My tongue is dry from no blood
I want to make a blood flood
    I am getting more desperate
Desperate for human blood, so desperate
    I found a human
I reached down and grabbed the human
Opened my mouth and ate the human in one bite
What was surprising is that he didn’t fight
    The blood, oh the blood
    Tasted good, oh the blood
    Now I want more
I just want more blood. More more more!

  • COLD ACID

    by EMILY

    Music plays in my
    head like amnesia
    on overdrive.
    I shower with
    drops of sunlight &
    play in puddles of
    cold acid.
    I pop off the tops
    of cans & throw
    them like grenades on
    the verge of exploding.
    I hit at the ice-
    sickles that hang from
    the heads of my
    enemies.
    And red bands are
    wrapped around my arms
    from each time
    I’ve been heartbroken.
    Songs speak to me
    when people seem mute.
    And I find comfort in
    the fact that I’m alive.
    Cartwheels are just handstands
    doing sideways somersaults &
    I’m just an overgrown
    potato that sprouted
    arms & legs.

  • MISSING INTENTION

    by CURTIS W

All is lost! All is mistaken!
The evil beast is about to awaken
The beast of sin, so inferior
You saw it in the mirror

The Angel, the savior, the hero is here
    Spreading light like a chandelier
    Breathing life into the world
    For all boys and girls

The power of good and evil is contagious
    Available in all…
Spreading darkness and destruction is up to you
But the wise man only spreads what’s true
True to all, and to himself
Not to use darkness to spread its wealth
So when the time comes to spread what’s true
Ask yourself is it the light or darkness in you!
