  • CAROUSEL

    by JAMMONICA

I’m a roller coaster that goes up,
    my friend.
My life is like a carousel, that
    goes round and round.

I fell in love. The way you
fall asleep slowly and then all at once.
White roses like being in love with someone you can’t be in love with.

Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.
Nightmares can be terrifying and deceiving.

    Pain demands to be felt.
    Details that fall from the
leaves, slowly from all the tears.

Maybe ‘okay’ will be our always.

  • CRISIS

    by TYREE

We are in the midst of crisis.
No matter how sturdy something appears, it has a weakness.
    I’m a lost toy!
How could you let your hate overcome our love?!
Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye,
And through this pain I can find my peace.
But as of now I’m not me.
Now I have become death, the destroyer of the worlds!
Thank you for this my dear.
Truthfully I needed the space, you’re far too independent.
The disease has sharpened my senses.
Now I’ve realized that my heart was blind.
There is only 4 things about this universe I know—
There’s 7.125 billion people in the world,
Mercury is the only metal that is liquid,
I myself don’t believe in explaining anything,
And I WILL GET OVER THIS!
    Being alone is very difficult,
But it’s difficult to be alone.
I opened my eyes and looked within.
This isn’t the last of Earth
For I am the passion and the magic in the air.
    We have our dark sides.
And they say, once you found it, you lost your mind.
But I just conquered the tallest roller coaster in the world.
So how, then, am I mad?

  • RANDOMNESS

    by TAYLOR

    People are random
    Things are random
    The boy who lived
    Cats love milk
    Private drive pirates say arr
    People get sick
    Glass shards
    What is a nickel?
Mr. Clean was created by oxi-clean
    “It isn’t clean unless it’s oxi-clean”
    A substance and a cushion
    Pop tarts taste like candy
    Sandwiches are good
    Lay, you fire
No one will ever forget about Beyonce
    Random, Random, Random

  • THE BOY WHO LIVED

    by TAYLOR

Imagine a world where everyone was dead except for one,
    The Boy who lived.
    Evil spirits and angry souls,
    Angry that he didn’t go.
They try to take his heart
    And knock him down.
They try to make him bleed,
    Make him drown.
    In fact, he’s scared—
    Time are rough,
    No family, no love.
    And he’s not very tough.
    They are full with jealousy.
They wish that they could be him.
They want to poison his veins
    And weaken his limbs.
    They did not survive
    So why did he,
That is what all of them think,
    So much hatred and negativity.
    Everything is dark.
When they gnaw at his soul,
It feels like they are stabbing him with darts.
    He prays he begs
    But nothing works.
    He gets even weaker
As they jerk and they jerk.
He’s not one to hide his emotions.
He hurts, he gets upset, and he cries.
Now he’s just accepted who he is,
    The boy who lived.

  • WHITE NOISE

    by PAULA

white lights, red and blue ones, too
    white-hot fire in my stomach
    bile in my throat
    someone, overpower the white noise
    and me,
    screaming, “white supremacy”

    it makes me sick

I am not my ancestor’s mistakes
no longer influenced by their ignorance
though I live with the repercussions
they say I’ve never known racism
because I’m of a light tone
I need more Coppertone at the beach
not extravagant enough in my preaching
but i grew up in a family
where being called a “n*****-lover” was
thrown in my face, laid on the
    table everyday over dinner

    not so much anymore

they grew used to my differing opinions
the kind where the amount of melanin
in your skin does not have an effect
on the amount of love I can give you
    so it hurts
it really hurts when the assumption
is that I’m racist, just another
    white girl
    ready
    to yell “hate crime!”
