ABSTRACTIONS
by CURTIS
God
The one spirit that created me
The one who stated he will never forsake me
The one who sent his son to die for us
The one who’s always there when we need to discuss
Justice
Fairness, equality, rights overcoming
Justice is for just us, but it doesn’t always come through
They say life isn’t always fair
But when justice prevails, it show when somebody else cares
Rage
Sometimes we can’t control it we can only hope to maintain it
But when it comes into our soul, it gets hard to sustain it
We all have emotions, but this one is the worst
And then we can get out of control and start to curse
Disaster
Devastation, chaos, humiliation, out of control
A lot of times it can take its toll
A lot of disasters have taken away lives
And it causes a whole lot of mess and strife
Triumph
Pride, dedication, motivation, inspiration
All of these are words that helps you win
Triumph feels so good when you work hard till the end
And when you give 110 percent
SODA
by CURTIS
I.
Sprite, Coke, Dr. Pepper, and Mountain Dew.
There’s enough to go around for the whole crew.
Grape Fanta, Grape, Cherry, and Sierra Mist.
All the sodas that make you wanna fizz.
II.
Suds coming up when you pour it in a cup,
When you hear it poured it makes a sizzling sound.
But make sure none of the suds hit the ground.
It tastes so good when you drink it all up.
III.
Celebrities talk about how they love it in commercials
When most of them never even had it in their life before.
They only advertise for the money and persuade the poor,
To get their pay checks and walk out the door.
IV.
They advertise products they don’t even use
And use it for their own advantage.
It’s kinda acting selfish, cause they don’t really care.
Acting like Shaq’s daddy, only in it for the money.
V.
I really see it as manipulation.
It concerns me deeply so I take it under consideration.
They think we are poor dogs calling us mutts.
They are all as fake as Kim Kardashian’ butt.
SHOES
by CURTIS
Trying to find shoes in my right size,
When I told them my size they looked so surprised.
I told them my size was a nineteen.
They talk about it all the time in the ESPN The Magazine.
Aren’t you the celebrity that’s getting a divorce?
Yea she’s takin’ all my money so I’m takin’ her to court.
Aye what about that Super Bowl.
Man, stop changing the subject, I just want to bowl.
You can’t bowl without the right shoes.
So what am I going to do? I don’t have a clue.
TSUNAMI
by CURTIS
A man kissing the sky in remembrance of a lost one. He’s a tsunami needing a city. The cause of death: somebody important, a woman getting hosed! While a husband shows love and affection to his wife during a big storm, this man lost his home. While this young child who’s been tortured sees the light of day, teeth pulled out. While a couple encourage each other from the devastation of the powerful rapture. A dog lays by his dead owner while a couple shares a kiss because it might be their last time together! Saving a life but it’s too late for this dead bride.
TORNADO
by CURTIS
This person is being discriminated and being put in jail and treated like a walking dog. A tornado destroyed his house. He saved himself but his mom died. When he realized he was making a mistake it was already time for her funeral. He still had hope everything would be all right because he was praying each and every night. Feeling like a hypocrite, he thought he was the one to blame because he always used to play that “I will always be by your side” game. Feeling sorry death came. He thought it couldn’t be contained. And even though he was angry enough to fight, he still had faith every thing would be all right.
