  • A CHILDHOOD MEMORY

    by JORDAN

I was walking home from school one day and I was in a good mood.
But kind of irritated because I was craving some food.
So my starvation made me act rude.
But I accidentally put my mom in a bad attitude
I went and got a brownie from the kitchen
But didn’t know it was a snack that my mom was going to be missing
I got scared when I walked into the living room and she noticed me
She said when I’m done with you, you’re going to be singing high notes like Jodeci
I ran from her trying not to fall
But wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and ran into the wall
I had a humongous bump on my forehead
She made me sleep on the couch and it felt like a short bed
But every time I saw her I couldn’t help but laugh
She asked if I wanted a brownie, I didn’t even want half
It was a funny moment I that I wish could last
But I’m still glad it is a thing in the past

  • GAY IS NOT AN OPTION

    by SHERROD

    I’m gay and it’s true
But you hate me because I’m different
    My parents don’t like him
But I’m in love with him
If I’m too much for you then don’t try to take it all in
    He started as a friend
We were going to stay together ’till the end
But when no one accepted us
I had to end it all for myself
    Jumped off a highway ledge
Getting hit by cars, for my fast end
    Sorry to leave so fast
I just wanted the hate to be in the past.

  • MY PEN

    by ALYSSA

    Smooth, Sleek,
    Sweet black ink…
Drips from you onto the page
    Showing Whole –
    Sadness & Rage,
    Happiness and above all,
    Reality and Dreams

    Smooth, Sleek,
    Sweet black ink…
    Harolder of Creation
    Harbinger of Destruction
    Revealer to
    Reality and Dreams.

    Smooth, Sleek,
    Sweet black ink…
    from horrible dissonant harmonies
    to sweet sanctified melodies,
    you
    create
    My Dreams
    My Reality

    Smooth, Sleek,
    Sweet black ink…
    You are simple,
like the page you haven’t written on –
    blank, empty,
    but full of potential
    to be so much more-
    There’s the obvious,
    a drawing,
    a visual scene,
    a sketch –
    done in sweet black ink.

To be a captivating musical composition –
Egmont, incidental music, Opus 84, Beethoven,
Ich Steine, Du Steine, Peter Fox,
    In Dreams, by Me

    Or even more-
    a piece of poetry
    preaching peace
    posting a publication
    or possibly
    – JUST SHARING YOUR SOUL –
    – or maybe the most important thing
Sharing a Dream for our Reality

    But whatever it may be,
I give my love to thee,
    dearest pen,
    and your
    Smooth, Sweet,
    Sleek black ink,
    because You
    Create
    with Me.

  • CARPE DIEM

    by PAULA

    One more thing before you go;
I hope you know what you mean to me.
Even though your scars have leaned on me through your darkest days,
I still carry the burden faithfully.
    One more thing before you go;
Just bow your head and pray
    To never waste a day,
To never falter in your stride,
    And to always feel alive
As you take my breath away.
    One more thing before you go;
    I have to know…
Did you think of me when you ran from the show?
    The band still played,
Yet, you pretended not to know
    The danger of our fall.
    We broke away.
    Did you just not care?
Was your heart in it at all?
    Were there any feelings there?
I know I’ve said this before.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times,
    I swear.
    But, one more thing before you go;
Would it have killed you to try?
Say hello to the angels below.
