Hello! My name is Kimberly Elizabeth Northrup. You have landed upon my blog, which I am using for a few purposes in the educational realm. I am currently a senior at Butler University of Indianapolis, and my studies are focused on Secondary Education and Spanish. The goal of this blog is to act as an electronic portfolio where I can upload and share the majority of my class projects throughout my years here at Butler. If you ever have questions or suggestions, feel free to email me at knorthru@butler.edu 🙂
Biography
My name is Kimberly Northrup. I am twenty-two years old and a senior Spanish Education Major at Butler University. I am the oldest of four children, and we hail from New Castle/Hagerstown, Indiana. I am a member of Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Honor Society and the Dawg Pound here at Butler University. I am currently employed by Butler Residence Life, and will spend my senior year as a resident assistant in Schwitzer Hall.
One of my many passions is the Spanish language. I have been lucky enough to have traveled to Belize, Guatemala, and Argentina. I actually spent a month in Argentina for an exchange program back in 2008, and I absolutely loved it. I believe traveling and spending time with another culture has really helped me open my eyes to the world around me. It has also helped fuel my interest in the Spanish language, which is a thirst I cannot quench. Originally coming to Butler University, I was intending to be a Physician Assistant with a double major in Spanish, but as time passed, I realized I was lying to myself. PA school was not my thing, and after taking a Service Learning class and tutoring at Crispus Attucks in Indianapolis, I found what I really want to do with my life: teach.
