Members of the week: 2011-2012
To best introduce you to our members, we will be highlighting a member of BUSF every other week. Our current member of the week is listed first, followed by our past members of the week. So keep checking back to see who will be featured next!
Alli Morrill
Alli is extremely involved on campus, taking part in Alpha Phi sorority, Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, and coming into Butler through the Ambassadors of Change program. She’s always smiling and making others feel good. Recently she did a wonderful job volunteering at the Bulldog Jog and aiding in preparations for the Traditions Book.
Jon Himes
Jon is extremely involved on campus. He is the director of the SGA Program Board, a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, a coordinator for the Ambassadors of Change Program, a part of Fall Alternative break, and has worked in the Volunteer Center at Butler! As a senior this year, he has been a great role model by organizing dinners of 10 and always being an active part of the organization. During his time here, he has attended several CASE ASAP conferences and helped BUSF win a national award for one of our most popular events, Blue II’s Birthday!
Sara Doverspike
Sara is a wonderful freshman addition to BUSF this year. Anyone who knows her (or doesn’t) is immediately greeted with a big smile and peppy personality. On campus she is involved with Ambassadors of Change, the pep band, and Coffee House, which is the group that brings cool bands into Starbucks for students to enjoy. She can talk to anyone about anything and has been a wonderful asset to BUSF through her work on the Parking Contest and multiple showings at our dinners with 10.
Julie Robinson
Julie is part of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and an executive officer for the YMCA spring break trip to Jamaica. Over winter break, she gave up her time to attend a reception in Chicago for admitted students. Thanks to her for being such a proactive member!
Bethany Ryder
Bethany has been active in BUSF both by attending admitted students basketball game receptions and by co-chairing our Bulldog Jog event. Currently she is a resident assistant at Schwitzer Hall.
Kevin Knaus
Aside from Kevin’s interesting faces, he makes his mark on campus by being an Ambassadors of Change team builder and being very involved in BUSF. He has attended basketball game receptions for admitted students, organized Dinners with 10, and served as a committee director within BUSF.
Bryant is a freshman involved with the Timmy Global Health Foundation, Ambassadors of Change Program, and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He is responsible for updating this page of the blog, so thanks to him for updating the page information about all of our members!
Laura Anderson
Laura is a new freshman member of the Student Foundation, and she has gotten very involved on campus from the get-go. Aside from participating in Ambassadors of Change, she is involved with the Butler American Marketing Association, Young Life, and Help Heal Haiti. Big shout out to Laura for her help with Homecoming and in packaging all of the class T-shirts! Her smile never ceases to disappoint either!
Doris can be seen all around Butler. She loves to help others by being a Student Ambassador and Student Orientation Guide. She keeps active as a member of Delta Gamma and Alpha Kappa Psi. She also serves on the executive committee for the Spring Sports Spectacular! She is always helping out in BUSF, and we would especially like to thank her for her hard work in writing the grant that helped us fund a successful Spirit Week!
John Monroe
John is a very involved part of Butler University. Aside from being in Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and heading its homecoming efforts this past semester, he is a member of the club soccer team and is a houseboy at Alpha Chi Omega. For his dedicated service to BUSF and his flawless attendance at meetings, he has been named this week’s Member of the Week.
Karina Hamamouche
Karina is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, an Ambassadors of Change team builder (group leader), part of Dr. Bohanon’s research lab, and a member of the Butler University Dance Team! She is an Algerian-American who loves kids and wishes to travel the world. Recently, she has been a great asset to BUSF for her work as a co-chair of the Traditions Book. She spent much time this summer flipping through old Butler yearbooks to compile a good collection of pictures for use in the book. When the book is published, it will be done so, in large part, thanks to Karina!
Ashleigh Taylor
Ashleigh is a poly science and journalism major involved with Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, The Collegian, The Society for Professional Journalists, and the SGA. She is known for her bright personality and positive attitude which help to cheer up those around her. Ashleigh has been a wonderful member of BUSF since her freshman year and has made a large impact recently by helping with the traditions book, Blue II’s B-day, and by buying all the groceries for our Fall Retreat!
